WITHIN WALLS: Swastik Vatika

A design language for the marriage party plot was developed in such a way that does it not reflect or follow any particular culture, religion or use of typical period elements but simply a pure expression of Contemporary Design.

The outside gathering area is defined and delineated by two optical wall s treated with Optical Illusion pattern, done in double coat plaster and finished with exterior grade paints. The floor has a 2’x2’ rough kota stone pattern which gradually crawls over the Entrance Gate with 1’x1’ M.S panels and still climbs up the Entrance Canopy on top with 2’x2’ recessed in M.S panels.

The ceremonial pathway, starting after the checkered gate is flanked by laser cut 1mm thick metal sheet finished with metallic paint as feature walls, illuminated with 120watts spot lights to evoke a contemporary vocabulary. The pathway terminates at a water body with a flock of birds flying out sculpture and opens to lawns of the party plot. A number of screen walls with patterns in plaster surround the part plot lawns and hide the kitchen and service areas behind.

Phase 2: WITHIN WALLS: THE SARAS CRANE

The project was given a fresh new looking in 2014 with some modifications. The screen walls of the main entrance and the central water body were identified to be redesigned for the new look. The entrance screen walls were redefined with a play of colored strips and custom designed brass plate light fixtures. The central water body was developed on the lines of a Kinetic sculpture in the form of the SARAS crane – the symbol of “good will”. The proportions of the sculpture are such that it can be appreciated right from the entrance.
