Vasad farm - Elecon

An existing Farmhouse with developed Landscape admeasuring 6600 sq.mt. on the banks of river Narmada near Vasad town, needed renovation and refurbishment of the landscape to create a new identity with a different thought process. Two zones were identified the VISUAL FRONT, along the approach way which was 15 ft above and the second attached to the GLASS GAZEBO with an open garden as a gathering space on the other side of the road. The visual front was transformed into stepped terraces differentiated with distinct lawn species. The entire land is divided into 4 levels which take you 15’ high to the Porch. These slopes are created in soil using the Angle of repose 30 degrees and planting grass species (i.e. Paspalum Lawn) to further stabilize it.

As you approach the Porch, which is 15’ above the ground level, a floating lily water feature welcomes you into the space. The landscape alongside the road is treated as a visual treat with stepped terraces and different planting typologies. The outside is further decorated with scarcely placed monoliths on the stepped terraces

Floating Lilies & Lotus ponds.

Water lilies (Botanical name: Nymphaeaceae) with their distinctive leaves are generally found in tropical climates which can grow up to 8-9ft. in diameter and can take the load of a small child too. For the water feature we adopted its form and reinvented it as a BRASS SCULPTURE.
These brass plates of 2’ and 2’6” dia were placed at different levels, wherein the water flow was controlled, allowed to fall from the tip only generating a continuous pleasant sound.
