A residence of 4000 sq ft. situated in Silver Oak Estate (a commercial farmhouse scheme) located approx. 15kms away from Vadodara’s city limit. The civil structure of the house was already constructed, but still minor alterations in structure were done as per the interior requirements. Conceptually the idea was to create a farmhouse Ambience in which the house can blend with and also open easily to the landscape. The sloping roof with chill wood as solid decking (supporting Mangalore tiles on top) and the rafters reflecting the typical King Post Roof and its traditional characters which we just accentuated in the overall language but making it more the opulent ( as per the requirement ) The material palette was consciously kept low key but treating each element in a way that it expresses a bit of opulence. The floor is of 3’x3’ polished KOTA STONE, the roof is the same chill wood decking just polished, vertical surfaces, mostly just paint with artwork from decorated artist of Vadodara and other Indian craftsmen , Some loose furniture especially chairs and coaches are by the NID Designers, but majority is custom designed and manufactured on site.
Physical and Visual connections with landscape are at a-utmost importance with no compromising on the security aspects. All major opening to the Landscape though having Glass also do have elaborated M.S grills allowing clear views. A ground floor house with a delicate folded M.S sheet staircase leading to the terrace.
This so called Farmhouse was supposed to become the main house of the client’s. Their sole requirement was to have a Essence of Farmhouse but to all contemporary modern facilities and “YES OPULENCE”
