This site is a typical duplex plot of 2800 sq. ft. with Mr. Vijay’s residence on the side. The challenge was to create a farm house environment with all amenities right next to his existing house in the very urban heart of Baroda city with POL houses around. A luxurious farm with all modern amenities like openness with green lawns, a pool with deck, Gazebo or pergola sittings, water features & sculptures, trees & shrubs etc were what the client desired.
The area was developed on SIR PATRICK GEDDES’S philosophy of “CONSERVATIVE SURGERY” for decongestion and improvement of the city- of methodically republishing the environment by essentially conserving it. In this, dilapidated old buildings were either repaired or carefully eliminated from the built environment, improved by reducing density and the introduction of vegetation. This method was more economical, more socially acceptable and more significant which retained the character of the place.
