An Old Wada : Rejuvenated : - C.J. Patel

C.J.PATEL’S farm house is very subtly nestled outside the city of Nadiad, amidst green fields all around and an adjoining the Irrigation canal. This was an existing farm and required a new look, hence it is completely reworked on changing almost the entire landscape with consciously retaining the existing civil structures and renovating them to gel with the new landscape vocabulary. The site had a “old heritage wada” which got a face lift conserving its character and enhancing the same with exposed brick semi-circular arches. This also becomes the entrance to the farm leading one to the Gazebo where one can disperse into the lawn areas. A new elevation vocabulary is created to connect an old Guest house with the new Garden Pavilion structure with Swimming Pool sandwiched in between. A central Pond within the lawn area works as a collection cum percolation tank during the monsoons as all the slopes are directed towards this pond.
